Birmingham Buildings
Silk-cotton scarf. Made in the UK
£65.00
Birmingham Buildings is a versatile medium-sized scarf in a beautifully light silk/cotton mix. The diverse architecture across the city was the inspiration for this scarf design; the vibrant mix of modern and traditional styles side by side create an exciting landscape. Within the architecture illustrated, there are also references to the heritage of Birmingham and the many trades that traditionally characterised the city including metal trades, jewellery, printing and brewing and more recently, banking and life sciences, not to mention the city’s position today as a global automotive powerhouse!
Did you know that Birmingham has more canals than Venice with over 100 miles of canal navigation? This extensive canal network, developed in the 18th century, marked Birmingham as a key player in the global export market. Enjoyed today by walkers, cyclists, and narrowboat owners, they are a reminder of the unique industrial history of the city.
